Which tower cranes does Total Equipment Sales supply?
Potain tower cranes in four groups: self-erecting, flat-top, luffing and heavy lift. The range runs from 1.8 to 90 tonnes maximum capacity, with jibs up to 80 metres.
How do I work out which tower crane I need?
Start with the heaviest load you need to place and how far out from the crane it sits. Put that pair into the lift check on the cranes page, or read it off a crane's load curve. Then send us the load, the radius and the site and we confirm it against the load chart for the exact setup.
Can you service a tower crane after selling it?
Yes. We are an authorised Potain service provider, with technicians, workshop and parts at our QLD Depot.
Do you publish full specifications?
Yes. Every crane's page has its capacity, jib length and load curve, read from the Potain datasheet, and a link to download that datasheet.
Construction hoists
What construction hoists does TES supply?
Potain SC220, SC300 and SC300 XL passenger and materials hoists, 2200 to 3000 kg, with masts to 450 metres, and Techway loading platforms and Linc Deck to match the build.
Do you install and service the hoist as well as supply it?
Yes. Supply, installation, tie-ins, climbing and service are handled by our own team from our QLD Depot.
Battery power
Can a tower crane run on a battery instead of a diesel generator?
Yes. A Potain Power lithium battery energy storage system stores mains power and releases it on demand, including the split-second peak of a lift, so a crane or hoist runs without a generator on site.
How long does a charge last?
It depends on the duty. The PA range carries the peaks between top-ups from a mains feed; the PE500 holds a full shift's energy on board. Send us the crane and the site supply and we size it.
Is battery power cheaper than a generator?
Usually, once fuel, servicing and generator hire are counted. The battery ROI calculator on this page works it through for your job.
Service, parts and support
Do you keep spare parts in stock?
Wear parts — the motors, brakes, contactors and sensors that fail first — are held on the shelf at our QLD Depot. Everything else is ordered against the machine's build.
How quickly do you respond to a breakdown?
Enquiries are answered within 2 business days. We treat a breakdown as urgent — call the number on any page and you will reach a technician.
What do you fit besides selling and servicing the crane?
Anti-collision and zoning systems, remote monitoring, loading platforms and Linc Deck, all fitted and commissioned in-house.
